Hunter proposing
The proposal

As most of you know, we, Hunter and Tracey have been a couple since 1999. We've been living together since 2006. We've raised two above average cats, shared home ownership, survived a major home remodel, shared titles of car ownership, traveled the world, enjoyed and celebrated our families on many holidays and summer vacations together. So you may, at this point, ask — what's the rush? Why get married now? Well, we finally know each other!

All kidding aside, the time was right to make this legal and declare that we're not going anywhere. It's worked out for over 26 years and will continue for at least another 26 more years we're hoping. Also, it's high time we have a party-to-remember with our dearest friends and family.

We got engaged September 7th, 2024. With some big decisions made and events going on in our lives, the time was poignant for a bigger step. Hunter proposed during a bike ride, at the Lone Tree overlook clearing at the intersection of the famous Dipsea Trail and Coastal Fire Road, which is within 5 miles of the Pelican Inn. He presented a moonstone — Tracey's favorite — and silver ring with small diamonds. In fact he proposed with two rings, wanting to show his double love for Tracey. (Actually, Hunter wanted Tracey to have the best possible choice.)

Hoping to make it a total surprise — which worked — Hunter went down on knee during our favorite bike ride; a ride we do nearly every Saturday. Enlisting the help of our cycling comrades Mike, Drew, and Michael to document the event, Hunter needed it as he was a happy but blithering, crying mess. We all had a moment to celebrate together at the Junction pizza and beer spot in Mill Valley after the ride with a toast and big smiles.

Later in the evening, Tracey said, "Hey, let's go out to dinner!" The celebration continued — this time cleaned up and not in sweaty bike clothes.

We are thrilled to have you attend our wedding. This website is for you. We want to make sure you have enough information to make it easier for your attendance. It can be tricky to find The Pelican Inn, and getting there can be tight with traffic, so do allow plenty of time to get there well before 5:00 PM, Saturday August 8th, 2026.

Drinks will be provided upon arrival. There will be ceremony, music, refreshments, celebration, dancing and speech making most likely. We also highly encourage you to get here even earlier, and hike to Muir Beach, or take some of the other trails around Pelican Inn. If you even find the time to hike to our proposal spot, please do! The proposal happened right here. Perhaps not the specific rock, but the ocean, trees, and gorgeousness of the Northern California coast make it a special spot for sure.
